Jade Desktop works with public wallet information and unsigned transactions. If anything asks for your recovery phrase, including a website or a support chat, it is a scam.

The backup is yours.

Write down the recovery phrase when you set up your Jade and keep it offline. It is the only way to restore your funds, and no one, including us, can recover it for you.

    Follow the setup on the device. Write the recovery phrase on paper and keep it somewhere safe and offline.

    Open Jade Desktop and pair your device. The app follows your wallet; the keys stay on Jade.

    Prepare a payment in the app, check it on the device screen, confirm, and the app broadcasts it.

Questions.

Is Jade Desktop made by Blockstream?

No. Jade Desktop is an independent app. It works with Blockstream Jade and Jade Plus hardware wallets, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blockstream.

Will the app ask for my recovery phrase?

No. Your keys and recovery phrase belong on the hardware wallet and on your paper backup. Never type them into a computer, a website or a support chat.

What if I lose or break my Jade?

Your bitcoin is not stored in the device. You can restore your wallet on a new device with your recovery phrase. That is why keeping the backup safe is your responsibility.

Do I need the device connected all the time?

The device is needed to sign. What the app can show without it is described in the documentation.

How do I check that my download is genuine?

Download only from this page or the official repository, then compare the file’s SHA-256 checksum with the one published for the release. The documentation shows how to do this on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Does it work with other hardware wallets?

Jade Desktop is built for Blockstream Jade and Jade Plus. Those are the devices it supports.
